Employment Opportunity: Haemophilia Nurse

The South African Haemophilia Foundation (SAHF), a non-profit organization, requires the services of a Nurse to provide compassionate care to patients and people with Haemophilia. The position will be based at the Haemophilia Nurses Office in the Northern suburbs of Johannesburg.

Reporting directly to the SAHF Chairman, the responsibilities would include:-

  • Provision of care to people with Haemophilia
  • Provision of nursing assistance at monthly Haemophilia Clinics
  • Participation in the activities of the Haemophilia Foundation
  • Education and training of professional staff and patients
  • Outreach and identification of new patients
  • Planning and implementation of related projects
  • Advocacy with stake holders

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • The candidate must be prepared to travel extensively in Gauteng, Limpopo, Mpumalanga and North West Province
  • Registration as a professional nurse with the SA Nursing Council
  • Clinical experience in dealing with both paediatric and adult patients
  • Paediatric Nursing qualification would be an advantage
  • Phlebotomy skills
  • Proven ability to care and demonstrate empathy for patients and their families.
  • Computer Literacy
  • Work independently and within a team
  • Written and verbal fluency in English, Afrikaans and an African language
  • Experience in project planning and implementation
  • Drivers’ license (code 8) and own car
